What is Kiwanis

Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis and its youth-oriented Service Leadership Programs serve communities in more than 80 countries and geographic areas.Founded in 1915 in Detroit, Michigan, Kiwanis International now comprises 600,000 members — men, women boys and girls — worldwide.

Who We Are

Kiwanians are volunteers changing the world through service. Kiwanis members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged, care for the sick, build playgrounds, and much more. No problem is too big or too small. Why? Because by working together, many can achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.

Since Kiwanis first came to the West Coast in 1917, Kiwanis members of California, Nevada, and Hawaii have been making a positive impact on the communities and people around them. From disaster relief efforts to youth scholarship programs, being in Kiwanis is all about “giving back.”

What we do

What We Do

Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis International club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Kiwanis members stage nearly 150,000 service projects, devote more than 6 million hours of service and raise nearly US$107 million every year for communities, families and projects. Key Club members pitch in 12 million hours of service each year, and CKI members another 500,000 hours of service! Aktion club members donate another 92,000 hours of service every year. Add it all up, and that’s more than 18 million hours of service every year!

Kiwanis Division 25 is located in the West San Fernando Valley, and is comprised of the Kiwanis Clubs of Calabasas-Agoura Hills, Canoga Park-Reseda, Chatsworth, Northridge, Van Nuys-Mid Valley, Warner Center, and Woodland Hills.We are proud members of both the California-Nevada-Hawaii District, and Kiwanis International. Starting at the Los Angeles-Ventura county line and crest of the Santa Monica Mountains; thence east along County Roads to Mulholland Drive and Topanga Canyon Road; east on Mulholland Drive to Coldwater Canyon Avenue; thence north on Coldwater Canyon Avenue to Riverside Drive; east on Riverside Drive to Whitsett Avenue; north on Whitsett Avenue to Strathern Street; thence west on Strathern Street to Woodman Avenue; north on Woodman Avenue to Roscoe Boulevard; thence northwest on Woodman Avenue to Devonshire; thence west on Devonshire to Woodley Avenue; thence north on Woodley to Rinaldi Street; thence west on Rinaldi Street extended in a straight line to Ventura county line; thence south on county line to point of beginning.
